Adelfeiras Route

A 1.54 km route, with an easy difficulty level.

On this small thematic route, it is possible to observe an adelfeiral, i.e. a habitat dominated by the adelfeira (Rhododendron ponticum subsp. baeticum).

The adelfeiral is very rare and of high conservation value as it is dominated by relict Laurissilva (laurel) species that remain here thanks to the microclimate conditions of the Serra de Monchique (Monchique Mountain).

Along the way, it is also possible to observe an enormous floristic richness, including holly, cork-oaks, strawberry trees and the rare white lavender.
